Mrs. Eula Mae Williams

Mrs. Eula Mae Williams, 93, passed away on March 10, 2025 at UF Health Shands Hospital. The sunrise for Eula M. Williams was February 2, 1932, in Hamlet, North Carolina to Leslie Lyles and Gertrude Thomas (deceased). Eula is the mother of six children, Sharon LW Jackson (Marvin), Bruce Maurice Williams, Ricky Edwin Williams (deceased), Carlos Fernell Williams (deceased), Earnest Clark Williams (Janet), and Rohn Moody Williams. After raising six babies, she raised her Granddaughter, then her Great-Grandson, and many others. She enjoyed assisting them and giving them her time. Eula completed her high school education at Lincoln High School here in Gainesville, FL. Between work and raising her babies, she also completed her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Florida. THE BEAUTIFUL FEET of Eula: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news." (Roman 10:15) How beautiful are the feet of those that share God's love in their walk of life. Not only does Eula leave behind four of her Children, but thirteen Grand Babies and twenty Great-Grand Babies. She also leaves behind many cousins and a host of nieces and nephews, and we can't begin to count the number of friends that became family to her. Gone ahead of her is her sons, Carlos and Ricky, and her great Granddaughter, Kaihl. Our prayer is that they are all together with the FATHER. Eula's life led her to a service where she could help many. As Executive Director at the Gainesville Housing Authority, she was instrumental in helping many with housing. This is where she earned her first retirement from the workforce. But she did not stop there, she joined the family of Alachua County School Teachers at Joseph E. Williams Elementary School as a Para Teacher. There she touched the young lives of many in this community. Eula lived a full and active life with a number of organizations; Her church home, Monteocha Baptist Church, as a mother of the church, supporter of the local NAACP chapter, A 28-year member of ETA Phi Beta Sorority where she served as Secretary, Keeper of Peace Guard, In-Take Coordinator, and Hospitality Chair, and a faithful member of the community Book Club. She enjoyed celebrating Birthdays within the Birthday Club. As if this wasn't enough, she was a regular member at the Gainesville Health and Fitness Center. Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Saturday, March 29, 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Chestnut Memorial Chapel, 18 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. Funeral Services for Mrs. Williams will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Lincoln Middle School, 1001 SE 12th Street, Gainesville, FL 32641. Interment will follow immediately in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gainesville, FL. "A CHESTNUT SERVICE"
