Mr. Floyd Henry Johnson Sr. Was born on October 3,1951 in Alachua/Bland Community Florida to the late Frank L. Johnson Sr and Geneva (Lee) Johnson Roberts. He was educated in the Alachua County School System. Mr. Johnson was employed as a custodian at A. L. Mebane Middle School in Alachua, Florida for 15yrs. He also worked as a Tree Surgeon for Farrens Tree Service and Asplundh Tree Experts in Gainesville, Florida for over 25yrs. He was A member of Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Alachua/Bland Community Florida. Floyd loved watching football and he was an avid Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins fan. He also loved to go fishing and hunting whenever he could. He was married to his loving wife Pearl M. Williams Johnson on December 27, 1977, and that union endured for 45yrs. In this union three children were born: Felicia H. Johnson, Floyd H. Johnson Jr and Kellen C. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents: Frank L. Johnson Sr and Geneva (Lee) Johnson Roberts, Father-in-law, and Mother-in-law: James Williams and Alberta Grooms Williams, Brothers: James L. Johnson Sr and Robert L. Johnson Sr, Sisters-in-law: Billie Johnson and Bereatha A. Johnson, Sister: Irene Johnson Presley, Sons-in-law: Zachary Hester and Tome E. Files, and grandson Tyral Weldon. To be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord. God called upon him at his appointed time and he answered. Floyd transitioned to his heavenly form surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday February 7, 2023 at Park Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville, Florida. Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his precious memories: A loving wife Pearl M. Williams Johnson of Gainesville, Florida. Four sons: Charles E. Jones Sr (Dana) of Gainesville, Florida, Floyd H. Johnson Jr of Lecanto, Florida, Tony L. Weldon Sr (Raquel) of Ocala, Florida, and Kellen C. Johnson (Simone) of Pensacola, Florida. Three daughters: Latrenshia T. Hester and Janice L. Johnson Files both of Ocala, Florida, and Felicia H. Johnson of Alachua, Florida. Two special sons by heart: Bennie Robinson SR. Of Ocala, Florida and Delmous K. Boston of Gainesville, Florida. Four brothers: Frank L. Johnson Jr (Diane) And Alfred Johnson (Diane) both of Alachua, Florida, Willie L. Johnson (Venita) and Jerry Johnson both of Gainesville, Florida. Four sisters: Mae Francis Grimmage and Joyce Johnson (Frankie) of Gainesville, Florida, Dorothy Scott, and Geneva White (Mose) of Alachua, Florida. Six Brothers-in-law: Andrew Boyd (Agnes) of Ocala, Florida, Leon Boyd, Leroy Boyd, and David Boyd all of Gainesville, Florida, Franklin Boyd of St. Augustine, Florida, and James S. Williams (Ella Jean) of Alachua, Florida. Four Sisters-in-law: Retha B. Austin (James) of Detroit, Michigan, Ollie M. Boyd of Miami, Florida, Evelyn Boyd of Gainesville, Florida and Rosa M. Williams of Alachua, Florida. Family Matriarchs: Aunts: Cardell Udell of Hollywood, Florida, Mary Grooms of Pompano, Florida and Recy Grooms Franklin of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Uncles: Mark Lee of Gainesville, Florida, Charles Grooms (Carlotta) of San Diego, California, Ross Grooms (Evelyn) and Cornelius Grooms (Leola) both of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Twenty-seven grandchildren, Forty-three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and sorrowing friends. Public Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Chestnut Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 pm-7:00 pm. Mr. Johnson's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 11:00 a,m. at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Alachua/Bland Community Florida, Reverend Gregory E.
