Major Madison Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in Gainesville, FL. Born on May 11, 1953, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Major served his country in the US Army. Preparing to honor his memory, Major's family has announced a series of celebrations of his life. A public viewing will be held at Chestnut Funeral Home on September 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Finally, a funeral service will take place the next day, September 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Chestnut Funeral Home. Major will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his commitment to his family, and his unwavering love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through his wife, daughter, brother, and a large extended family who will always cherish the memories they shared with him. In honoring Major's wishes, his family has chosen cremation as his final disposition. His courageous service in the military will forever be remembered, and his impact on all those who knew him will continue to be felt. Major Madison Jr.'s laughter, love, and wisdom will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who knew him. May his spirit live on through the memories and stories shared among family and friends in the years to come. Major was preceded in death by: Rutha Mae Brackins, Major Madison Sr.(Parents), Javon Jackson(Step-Grandchild) Major is survived by his loving wife Rhonda Madison, his only daughter Elizabeth Madison. His grandchildren Artesia Brown, Ariana Brown, Artiana Brown, Christian Clay-Madison, Ciara Clay-Madison,Sheik Tyler Jr., and Audai-Jordan Morrison-Tyler. His great-grandchildren Ariyan Harris, Majesty Merriex, Skai Chandler, Deyonna Shade,Saadiah Green, Saadiq Green Jr., and Christian Anderson. Step-Children Kim Campbell, Tewanna Reed, Davita Easton, Demetric Perry, Robert Thorton, and Patrice Thorton. Step-grandchildren Lavonia, Darius, Xavier, Chadrick, Chandria, Savannah, Emanuel, Brian, Adonnovan, Jakyia, Aniyah, and Iman. His siblings; Karen () Lowe, Jeffrey (Jacqueline) Madison. His god-granted family Sherry Spikes and Janiyah Robinson. With the abundance of step-great--grandchildren, friends, and loved ones alike may his light shine on through each of us.
