Mrs. Margaret Lee Reynolds

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Reynolds, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025, in her sleep. She was 87 years old and was a beloved pillar of her family and community. Margaret was born on October 25, 1937, in Micanopy, Florida, to Henry Jones and Mattie Wilson Jones. She was the youngest of six siblings. At the age of seven, her family moved from Micanopy to Gainesville, where she was lovingly raised by her older sisters, Elsie Carter and Otis Mae Lee. Throughout her life, Margaret exhibited an unwavering strength, compassion, and devotion that touched the lives of everyone around her. A faithful servant of Jesus Christ, Margaret's love for the Lord was at the center of all she did. As an Evangelist, she dedicated her life to spreading the word of God and guiding others on their spiritual journeys. Her kindness, grace, and beauty were evident in every interaction, and she touched countless lives with her gentle spirit. Margaret was a devoted mother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her six children: Julius, Rose, Nathaniel, Stevie, Mattie, and Hiram; as well as several adopted children, 29 grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she was the beloved aunt to at least 23 nieces and nephews, many of whom she cherished and nurtured as her own. A true community servant, Margaret was an integral part of the Gainesville area. Her volunteer work with the Gainesville Police Department earned her the distinction of honorary member, and she took great pride in assisting the department at University of Florida football games, often alongside a K9. Her dedication to service also included her active participation in the neighborhood watch program, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of her neighbors. In addition to her commitment to her faith and community, Margaret enjoyed several hobbies that brought joy and relaxation into her life. She loved fishing, cooking, watching game shows, soap operas, wrestling, and football, and was always ready to share a good laugh with her loved ones. Until the end, Margaret's unwavering kindness, grace, and compassion remained a testament to the beautiful soul she was. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local charity of choice in Margaret's memory. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully served all her life.
