Mrs. Amy Annette Williams

Mrs. Amy Annette Walton McPhadden Williams, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at UF Health Shands Hospital. Mrs. Williams was born on August 11, 1936 in Monticello, FL to the late Mrs. Nellie Mae Young Robinson and Mr. Lonnie Walton. Her family later moved to Gainesville, FL where she was educated in the Alachua County Public School system. She was employed at the University of Florida for a brief time in the kitchen and at Williams Elementary School, where she worked as a Baker until she retired after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church where she attended regularly until her health declined. She was married to Mr. Herbert McPhadden, and later to Mr. Willie Williams Sr., both who preceded her in death. Annette, as we knew her, did what she enjoyed the most which was baking, working in the yard and spending time with the family. She was a person who never met a stranger, and always greeted you with a smile and a kind word. She was the mother of four children, and she helped to raised one grandchild Mr. Christopher Ferguson. Although spending time with her family was the joy of her life, her mother Mrs. Nellie Robinson and step-father Mr. James Robinson, father Mr. Lonnie Walton, two children Minister Pierre Walton and Ms. Patricia Walton, and four grandchildren, Mr. Damian McPhadden, Alexandria and twins Patricia and Patrice McPhadden, one sister, Mrs. Mattie Lee Walton Nixon, and one aunt Mrs. Mamie Wilson, all preceded her in death. On December 1, 2022, the Lord said, "I have gone away to prepare a place, and now I am ready to receive you". The Angels blew the trumpet, and Mrs. Amy Annette Williams transitioned home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Mr. Danny L. McPhadden (companion Ella) and Mr. Willie Williams Jr. (Cynthia), both of Gainesville, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Lonnie Mae Walker, Daytona Beach Florida; three sisters-in-laws, Ms. Birdie Williams, and Ms. Lilly M. Williams, both of Orangeburg South Carolina; Ms. Rosa Williams, Philadelphia PA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Others who held a special place in her heart are; nephew Mr. Sidney Walker Jr. nephew & niece Mr. Earsel and Mrs. Freddie Mae Brown, special friends Mrs. Delores Mosley, Ms. Mary Isaac and special friends and neighbors; Mrs. Willie Mae Poole, Ms. Bertha Lee Thomas, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Williams (who preceded her in death). Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Friday, December 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chestnut Memorial Chapel, 18 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, 120 SE Williston Road, Gainesville, FL 32601, Rev. Adrian S.
