Nellie Williams Bryant

Bryant, Nellie Williams Mrs. Nellie Williams Bryant, 73 transitioned from her earthly life on June 11th, 2016 in Miramar, FL. Nellie was born in Atlanta, GA, May 7, 1943 to the late Nellie Gardner Williams and Rev. Handy G. Williams, Sr. The family moved to Palatka while Nellie was quite young. She was a graduate of Central Academy High School, Class of 1958. She is also a graduate of Bethune Cookman University Bachelor of Science degree. She did further study at Columbia University, and Old Dominion University. She was a member of Gamma Tau Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Nellie began her career as a public School Teacher, later becoming a Consummate Youth Advocate. She became a Professional and Lobbyist in the Job Corp. Industry across the United States, Jamaica, and South Africa. Until her illness she served as Director of Regional Operations with Our Kids of Miami Dade/Monroe, Inc. Nellie is survived by: her son; Darryl Kent Williams(Averie), Jacksonville, FL, two grandchildren; Daryl Marie Williams, Virginia Beach, VA, Christopher G. Williams, Jacksonville, FL. One great grandchild; King Josiah Cooper, Virginia Beach, VA, siblings; Gloria W. Willis, Atlanta, GA, Rev. Geraldine W. McClellan, Gainesville, FL, Kappitola E. Williams, Atlanta, GA, Cynthia W. Curry, Miramar, FL, Ret. Col. Thomas W. Williams(Karen), Fairfax Station, VA. Graveside Services for Mrs. Bryant will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 Palm Avenue Palatka, FL, at 4:00pm, Rev. Geraldine W. McClellan, Officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32601. Visitation: Friday, June 17th, 2016 Mt.
