Peggy Gordon Ferguson

Dr. Peggy Gordon Ferguson, age 68, Author and Retired Educator with the Alachua County School Board, entered her rest joining her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in eternity on February 1, 2023. Dr. Ferguson was a graduate of Hawthorne High School, class of 1972. She went on to earn a BA in Elementary Education, an MA in Reading, Ed.S. in Literature, and a PhD in Christian Psychology. She served as a dedicated servant at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and Hope to the World Church. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband: Enricardo Ferguson; parents: Lewis and Mae Etta Gordon; siblings: Lewis Gordon, Jr. and Jeanette D. Johnson. She is survived by her daughters: Myretta F. Reed (Ché), Amanda I. Ferguson (Reginald), both of Gainesville, FL; nine grandchildren: Alaya Hannah, Gainesville, FL, Ché, Jr., Micah, Mason, Caden, Myles, Maion, Chloe and Caiah Reed, all of Gainesville, FL; goddaughter: Tristin Hayes, Atlanta, GA; sisters: Oveida Morehouse (James, Deceased), Richmond, CA, Freddie G. Young (James, Deceased), Gainesville, FL, Mary Baldwin (Andy, Deceased), Gordon Chapel, FL, Earthaleen Woods (Willie Sr.), Upper Marlboro, MD: brothers: Eddie Lee Gordon (Louise), Grove Park, FL, Clifford W. Gordon (Helen), Gainesville, FL, Carl Gordon, Sr. (Hazel), Gainesville, FL, Sidney Gordon (Margaret), Gainesville, FL, Russell Gordon (Ann, Deceased), Gordon Chapel, FL and Warrenell Gordon (Bonita), Gainesville, FL; special cousin: Pat Mack McCollough, Jacksonville, FL; special friend: Dale Williams, Gainesville, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Dr. Ferguson will be 10:30AM, Sat. Feb. 18, 2023 at Grace at Fort Clarke United Methodist Church, Rev. Geraldine McClellan, officiating; entombment will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, Gainesville, FL.
