Funeral Services for Mr. Michael Wayne Robinson, will be at 1pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Campus Church of Christ, 2720 SW 2nd Ave.,Gainesville, Florida. Bro. Randy Scott will be officiating and burial will follow at Starke-Nelson Cemetery, CR 40-A Hawthorne, FL. Visitation will be on Monday, April 26 from 2-6pm at the Chestnut Memorial Chapel, 18 NW 8th Ave. Gainesville, Florida. Flowers may be order her on this website and sent to the funeral home prior to the day of the service. Michael was born on January 25, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio.He was educated in the public schools of Alachua County, FL, Michael graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. Post-secondary studies yielded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Logistics from The Trinity College and University. Michael attended Americus University, where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Management. He completed programs in Executive Education and Business and Corporate Communications at the University of Florida. Also, a professional consultant certification was received from The Consultants Institute. As a respected employee of the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital, Michael worked for almost thirty-three years in various assignments, including Supply Chain Services, and retired in 2014. His leadership skills were exhibited in Toastmasters International, where he was recognized with the Distinguished Toastmaster Award. Additionally, as a successful speechwriter, Michael was the owner of a company, Ceremonial Speeches, that offered a range of speech writing and consulting services. Michael was committed to education; therefore, he mentored and tutored students. His dedication extended to being a volunteer with the International Students and Scholars Services. Likewise, he was a State Public Speaking Judge for the Florida 4-H Club Foundation, Incorporated. He was a remarkable person. Michael was intellectually curious and wanted to learn about so many various things. He had a respect for and admiration of multi-cultural beliefs and practices. His passion for expanding his perspective and lifelong learning resulted in him attending festivals, visiting art museums, and traveling extensively. Michael developed an interest in stamp collecting and was eager to share his knowledge with his younger cousins. As an avid fencer, he was an alumnus of the University of Florida Fencing Club. Michael leaves a legacy of love and inspiration to his first cousins: Ms. Carol Rhodes, of Ypsilanti, MI; Mr. Ralph Clifton, of Romulus, MI; Ms. Gail Rhodes, of Hilliard, OH; Mr. Phillip Rhodes, of Ypsilanti, MI; Mrs. Anita Hammett (Harvey), of Jacksonville, FL; Dr. Samuel B. Hunter (Serena), of Richmond, VA; and Mrs. Felecia D. Dandy (LeRay), of Chattanooga, TN; Family Elders: Ms. Bernice Glaze, of Albany, GA; Mrs. Polly Williams, of Brooklyn, NY; Mrs. Juanita Golden, of Miami, FL; Mrs. Elease Barlow, of Albany, GA; and Mrs. Eula Harvey, of Albany, GA; and numerous cousins and devoted friends who loved him and will keep his memories in their hearts.
